Your journal, your device
Reforge Privacy Policy
Updated September 10, 2026
Reforge adds a fantasy journal to workouts and everyday movement. The iOS app works without an account. Your journal stays on your device unless you choose to export it or share a workout with Apple Health.
Your journal and device settings
Reforge stores your chosen name, adult or kid mode, movement preferences and limitations, character progress, equipment, quest history, and unfinished workout checkpoints on your device. Recorded workout summaries may include activity type, dates, active duration, and distance. Permission and reminder settings are also stored locally. Recovery copies of your journal may be retained locally to protect against interrupted writes or imports.
The app does not send this information to a Reforge server. It has no advertising, analytics SDK, cross-app tracking, or developer-operated cloud account or sync service. You do not need to provide a real name.
Apple Health
Apple Health integration is optional and available in adult mode. If you allow Reforge to write workouts, eligible completed Reforge workouts are saved automatically to Apple Health. These records include the workout type, start and end times, active duration, and distance when available.
Read access is requested separately when you choose to import a workout. Reforge can display recent workout summaries, including their source app, and save the details of a workout you select to credit it to your journal. Reforge does not read heart rate, body measurements, workout routes, or other health records.
Health information is used to record movement and award in-app progress. Reforge does not sell it or use it for advertising or marketing. Health data is not transmitted to the developer. You can change Reforge’s access in Apple Health or iOS privacy settings. Revoking permission prevents future access; it does not delete summaries already imported into your journal or workouts already saved to Apple Health.
Outdoor location
Location permission is requested only when you choose GPS tracking for an outdoor workout. Precise location is used to calculate distance, including while the phone is locked during that session. Location updates stop when you pause, finish, or leave the workout.
Coordinates are processed temporarily in memory. Reforge does not retain a route map or send your coordinates to a server. The recorded distance and time can remain in your workout summary. You can deny or revoke location access in iOS Settings and use manual tracking instead.
Reminders and the Home Screen widget
Quest reminders are scheduled locally on your device. Reforge does not register a push token with a developer-operated notification service. You control permission, weekdays, and reminder times in iOS Settings.
If you add the Reforge widget, a small journal summary is shared locally with the widget extension. It includes your chosen name, level, progress, and quest counts. It does not include Health workout details, movement limitations, or location coordinates.
Exports, outside websites, and this policy page
Exporting a save creates a file containing your profile and journal, including saved workout summaries and movement limitations. Files and the share sheet send it only to the destination you choose. That destination’s privacy practices apply. Please share exports only with people or services you trust.
Movement references open outside websites in the system browser. Those websites receive normal connection information, such as your IP address, and apply their own privacy policies. Reforge does not attach your journal or Health records to those links.
The public version of this policy is hosted on Vercel. Loading that website involves ordinary web requests and hosting logs, which may include IP address, browser information, and request time. The policy has no analytics scripts or advertising. Reading the bundled policy inside the iOS app does not require a network connection.
Children and family use
Kid mode keeps its profile and adventure progress locally and does not use Apple Health integration. Reforge does not require a child’s email address, date of birth, or real name. A parent or guardian can help manage device permissions, exports, and removal of local data.
TestFlight and support
If you use a TestFlight beta, Apple may provide the developer with beta diagnostics, crash reports, and feedback under Apple’s TestFlight terms and your sharing choices. Feedback you submit may include your email address, screenshots, and device information. Reforge does not add a separate analytics service.
If you contact support, the developer receives the information you choose to send and uses it to respond or investigate the issue. Please avoid sending sensitive health information or a full save file unless it is needed and you are comfortable sharing it. Support correspondence is retained only as needed to handle the request and any applicable obligations.
Retention and removal
Your journal remains locally until it is replaced or the app’s data is removed. Importing another save can retain an archived recovery copy. To remove Reforge’s local journal, settings, and recovery copies, use Delete App in iOS Settings rather than Offload App. Remove any Reforge widgets as well. Exported files and device backups are separate copies you manage with their respective services.
Deleting Reforge does not remove workouts already saved in Apple Health. Manage or delete those records in Apple Health. Revoking a permission also does not delete previously exported files or imported journal records.
The developer cannot retrieve or remotely erase a journal that remains only on your device. Contact support about information you have sent directly to the developer.
